The District Judge Court will decide on Thursday in which court the hearing will be held in the case of IMC (Ittehad-e-Millat Council) chief Maulana Tauqeer Raza. ADJ Ravi Kumar Diwakar had issued summons to Maulana Tauqeer Raza to appear in the court, considering him to be the mastermind of the 2010 riots in Bareilly. Since then Maulana is absconding.
The police could not locate the Maulana and hence the summons could not be served. After this, the court had ordered the SSP on March 13 to arrest Maulana and present him in the court on March 19. The police kept searching for Maulana, but could not find him. Meanwhile, Maulana went to the High Court.
Shahrukh, another accused in the 2010 riots, had applied in the District Judge’s court to get the case heard in some other court. The hearing on the application to transfer the case file was completed in the District Judge’s court on Monday. After hearing the arguments of both the sides, the District Judge had fixed March 21 to pronounce the verdict.
After the decision of the District Judge Court on Thursday, it will become clear whether the hearing in the 2010 riots case related to Maulana Tauqeer Raza will be held in the ADJ’s court or in the fast track court.
